Skills

Adventurers can acquire skills according to their class, which can be learned at various facilities throughout the town. Combat skills are acquired at the training grounds, exploration skills like lockpicking and item identification at the Thieves’ Guild, and spellcasting skills at temples or the Mage’s Guild. This guide will cover the skills, their descriptions, which classes can learn them, and whether they can be inherited if switching to another class.

Brave Strike

  • Learned by: Fighter
  • Inheritable: No

A close combat skill that allows the fighter to charge at the enemy and deliver a powerful blow. As the skill level increases, so does the damage dealt. This is a unique skill to fighters and cannot be inherited upon changing classes. It can be learned at the training grounds.

Lockpicking

  • Learned by: Thief, Ninja
  • Inheritable: Yes

A skill for unlocking doors and treasure chests. Thieves start with this skill, while ninjas must learn it at the Thieves’ Guild. This skill can be inherited across classes, maintaining its utility even after class change. However, the skill level will not increase if switched to a non-compatible class.

Divine Magic

  • Learned by: Priest, Paladin, Sage
  • Inheritable: Yes

Enables the casting of divine spells. Priests possess this from the start, while paladins and sages need to learn it at a temple. The skill can be inherited, allowing continued use after changing classes, though skill level increases are restricted to compatible classes.

Wizard Magic

  • Learned by: Mage, Samurai, Sage
  • Inheritable: Yes

Essential for casting magician-type spells. Mages and sages start with this skill, and samurai must acquire it at the Mage’s Guild. This skill is inheritable, allowing usage after class changes, with the limitation on skill level increases applying.

Stealth Attack

  • Learned by: Thief, Ninja
  • Inheritable: No

Allows for attacks from hiding, potentially targeting the enemy’s rearguard even with close-range weapons. This skill is exclusive to thieves and ninjas and cannot be inherited. It’s acquired at the Thieves’ Guild.

Holy Smite

  • Learned by: Paladin
  • Inheritable: No

A close combat skill dealing divine damage to undead and demonic enemies. The damage increases with skill level. This unique skill for paladins cannot be inherited and is learned at the training grounds.

Instant Kill

  • Learned by: Samurai, Ninja
  • Inheritable: No

A skill that allows for a one-hit kill by exploiting the enemy’s weakness. Its accuracy improves with higher levels. This skill, unique to samurai and ninjas, cannot be inherited and is learned at the training grounds.

Swift Shadow

  • Learned by: Ninja
  • Inheritable: Yes

Creates illusions to confuse enemies and evade attacks, with evasion rate increasing with skill level. This ninja-specific skill can be inherited, offering utility even after a class change, but with the usual caveat regarding skill level progression. It is acquired at the training grounds.

Magic Boost

  • Learned by: Priest, Mage, Sage
  • Inheritable: No

Enhances the power of spells, increasing damage for attack spells and healing for restoration spells. The boost scales with skill level. This unique skill is available to mages at the Mage’s Guild, priests at the temple, and sages can learn it at either facility. It cannot be inherited after a class change.

Item Insight

  • Learned by: Thief, Ninja, Sage
  • Inheritable: Yes

Identifies the properties of unidentified items, with the ability to identify rarer items as the skill level increases. Thieves and sages have this skill initially, while ninjas must acquire it at the Thieves’ Guild. It can be inherited, allowing for continued use after changing classes, subject to the usual restriction on skill level improvement for non-compatible classes.
